Ron Cherry Ron Cherry
President & CEO

Ron Cherry is a US citizen and a native of Dallas, Texas. Mr. Cherry has a broad background in commercial real estate as a principal, developer and manager. Formerly president and owner of Commercial Real Estate Specialists located in Dallas, Texas, Mr. Cherry’s firm managed and leased office and industrial buildings for clients such as American General Life Insurance Company and Republic Life Insurance Company. Mr. Cherry has also worked within the corporate real estate environment as Director of National Business Development/Dispositions for FGB Realty Advisors where he originated in excess of $700,000,000 in new business and at GE Capital Realty Advisors where he served as Senior Equity Manager for Canadian assets.

Since founding Dalcan Investments, Ltd. in 1997 Mr. Cherry has led in the purchase of more than 2.7 Million s.f. of office properties and 4,000 acres of land valued at approximately $250,000,000.

Mr. Cherry is licensed as a real estate broker in Texas. Academic accomplishments include a B.A. from Baylor University, Th.M., and D. Min. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

He sits on the Board of Visitors and the Board of Trustees at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and has served there as Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Executive Committee, and member of the Audit and Investment Committee. He also serves on the Advisor Board of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano.

Jason Cherry joined Dalcan Management in 2003 and, serves as Executive Vice President of Dalcan and a partner in various developments. He has been involved in numerous special projects involving asset dispositions, business development, management of off-site leasing and due diligence. Until 2009 he was responsible for the oversight of Leasing and Marketing for the Centre Office Park in Dallas and has been responsible for management of third party leasing on approximately 750,000 s.f. of Dalcan managed office properties located in Texas and Louisiana.

Mr. Cherry received a B.S. in Psychology from Dallas Baptist University and, an M.A. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, North Carolina.

He has served on the advisory board for Chuck Norris’ Kickstart and currently sits on the Advisory Counsel and Board of Governors at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is an active member of Prestonwood Baptist Church. He is also a licensed real estate salesman in the state of Texas.

David Colley David Colley
Director of Investment Sales, Aquisitions & Dispositions

David Colley, a longtime veteran of the commercial real estate industry, has over thirty years of experience in real estate investment, brokerage, leasing and lending. Presently, he reviews potential real estate investments in income properties and land for Dalcan, a full service real estate company.

Prior to working for Dalcan, Mr. Colley served as a vice president in the investment division of Henry S. Miller Company of Dallas. He brokered office, retail, hospitality, industrial properties as well as land. He also worked as an owner representative in leasing and tenant representation.

Before that, Mr. Colley was president of Hillcrest Financial, a mortgage brokerage company, where he arranged loans for buyers and developers.

Company History

Dalcan was founded as a Dallas based company in 1996, with an affiliation with Canderel Corporation of Montreal, by Ron Cherry and Jonathan Wener.

In 1997, Dalcan partnered with Canderel and Caisse de Depot, both of Montreal, to acquire the 1.8 million s.f. portfolio of office buildings located in Texas and Louisiana. Dalcan managed, leased and sold the buildings delivering substantial returns.

In 1998, the partnership acquired the Centre Office Park, an 11 bulding, 900,000 s.f., office park in North Dallas. Dalcan managed, leased that asset until 2009 when it re-zoned the property and prepared it for re-development to meet the changing local market demands.

In 2000, Dalcan acquired 440 acres of land on Richland-Chambers reservoir one hour south of Dallas and developed a high quality gated residential community on the southern shore of the lake, where it continues to develop lots and build houses in this premier recreational and retirement community.

In 2007, Dalcan and Canderel acquired more than 3,600 acres of land near Austin, Texas along the newly constructed S.H. 130, a tollway that links north Austin with north San Antonio. This mixed use project, located in the center of the Texas Triangle, one of the most rapidly developing population centers in the United States, has been described by the Austin Chamber of Commerce as one of Texas most outstanding “Mega” sites in the state. Dalcan, acting as Managing Partner landplanned, entitled and, created a Municipal Water District (MUD) while the tollway construction was underway. This mixed use site continues to be managed and marketed by Dalcan.
